Friday My Town Shoot-out - Aquariums

This week's subject for the Friday My Town Shoot-out is the aquariums - chosen by Chef E. from Princeton, New Jersey.  As I hope you will appreciate I loved this topic.  Most of the following (except the sharks) were taken in Chester Zoo's aquarium.

You cannot have an aquarium without a Clown Fish.

A Clown Triggerfish

Copperband Butterfly Fish

Emperor Angelfish

Fu Manchu Lionfish

Longhorn Cowfish

Mandarin Fish

Pufferfish

Regal Tang

Yellow Tang

Shark

Shark

And the aquarium is not just about fish.  There are ....

Corals

Peacock Fanworms

Red Starfish

And Green Brittlestars.

  2. you know all the names, how wonderful.
my favorite is the yellow with an eye on his tail fin. so the enemy comes lurking around - getting in his face.... just to have him zoom off the other direction....

  3. Gorgeous fish and coral. All of them are beautiful. I love the colors. There is something about an aquarium that is calming and exciting too.

  5. Now what you can't have an aquarium without is one of those little black and white stripey fish. Unfortunately I've totally forgotten the name, but hopefully you know the one I mean!

  7. What a wonderful selection. When I've tried to shoot in acquaria I've had problems with reflections and poor lighting and movement.

  8. I was able to find some private aquarium to shoot but no one to tell me what the names of the fish were. I have some of the same fish you do. I like this theme. Great job.

  9. I think God had more fun creating fish than He did creating us. Beautiful colors, and so clear!

  12. I love the water, and the life it holds! I also loved that movie where the old actor falls into the ocean and becomes a fish, Mr Limpet!

    Nice shots...

  13. Wow! Is there ever a topic that has you stumped? Your fish photo collection is impressive but I love the last few shots the best.

  14. Good point, Helen. I should perhaps have pointed out my shots were all of salt-water fish. Most people who keep fish at home have freshwater fish like Neon Tetras, Zebra Danios, and Angel Fish. I've got photos of those from the days when we had them but they aren't such good photos. Nevertheless, they'd make a good post some time.

  17. Beautiful shots with striking color. Clownfish and brittlestars are my favorites here although my eyes are still vibrating from the color throughout.

  20. Great pictures...so many different color combos and textures! My favorite would have to be those fire engine red starfish. We've just got purple and brown ones on the beaches here.
