Marvin Kilgore, who owns the Fukang meteorite, poses for photographs at Bonham's Auction house in New York. The meteorite was found in the Gobi desert and is thought to be as old as the solar system.
According to Sky News it is "expected to fetch more than £1 at auction." Eh! I think they may mean £1 million. Even in my present hardened financial circumstances I would be happy to give more than a pound for it!

The Gobi is a rain shadow desert formed by the Himalaya range blocking rain-carrying clouds from reaching the Gobi.
Fukang (Chinese: 阜康; pinyin: Fùkāng) 44°08′N, 87°56′E is a county-level city in Xinjiang Province of the People's Republic of China. The population in 1990 was given as 38,795.
